Webinar: Developing a Typology of Private Healthcare Providers

Professor Tim Ensor is a CHORUS Research Director at the University of Leeds. In this webinar he discusses how the non-government sector is an important player in the formal or informal delivery of medical services. This mix of the public and private funding and healthcare provision present in the health systems of the four CHORUS countries, and is particularly dominant in urban areas.

Developing a typology of private healthcare providers can be insightful and used across the CHORUS research programme, and other contexts, in order to conceptualise different types of providers and methods of working with them.

The session includes an initial talk, followed by country-specific group work to discuss how the typology can be developed further to take account of the contexts of each country.
