Strengthening the Urban Primary Health Care System to Deliver Essential NCD Care
Urbanisation is rapid in Bangladesh, and with it comes an increase in NCD risk factors for urban populations, however the urban healthcare system fragmented and lacking coordination and data for effective NCD service delivery. The CHORUS project in Bangladesh examined how the urban primary health care system be strengthened to ensure delivery of essential NCD care to the urban poor, implementing an intervention that aims to address the gaps in the Health Information System, improve coordination and build capacity of the health workforce.
This CHORUS Poster shares detail on the intervention and initial findings, as well as some barriers and facilitators for scale up to strengthen urban primary health care for improved NCD management and care.
