Opportunities and threats to linking informal healthcare providers into the formal urban health system in Nigeria
The CHORUS Nigeria team presented findings from stakeholder consultations at the 7th Global Symposium on Health Systems Research, 2022 in Columbia.
The Health Policy Research Group, as part of the CHORUS project on ‘Developing and Institutionalising Health System Linkages between the Public and Informal Sectors for Improved Equitable Provision of Appropriate Essential Health Services in Urban Slums’, conducted extensive stakeholder consultation across Anambra & Enugu states. The team present findings from these consultations on the opportunities to strengthen linkages, through legitimising the practice of informal health providers (IHPs) and ensuring compliance to standard operating procedures and related strategies.
